Mechanical Engineering CO-OP Position
We are seeking talented and motivated individuals. A position for a contiguous term of one semester and one summer to aid in the development and support of our GT-SUITE software is available.
Assignments vary depending on current needs as well as the academic level and interests of the applicant. Typical assignments include: simulation and analysis of engines and engine sub-systems, algorithm development and programming, software testing and documentation, and variety of other technical assignments.
Required Qualifications:
- Major in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering, Agricultural engineering (with an engine and/or mechanical emphasis), and Chemical Engineering (for exhaust aftertreatment catalyst modeling).
- Minimum 3 semesters. More semesters are desirable.
- GPA of 3.4 or higher.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Interest and/or experience with internal combustion engines: including design, measurement and instrumentation, controls, SAE projects (FormulaSAE, Future Car), automotive rebuilding.
- Interest and/or experience in thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, combustion, multi-body dynamics of mechanical systems, tribology, chemical kinetics.
- Interest and/or experience with computer simulation of flow or mechanical systems.
